I have a very basic understanding of what mysql is and my primary concern is as to whether mysql and php are the right solution to work with when looking to presenting mathematical calculations on the internet via a web page.
I have a number of excel spreadsheets with formulas and I am trying to learn how to display some of the information on the web. Microsoft Skydrive works but security is an issue.
I am trying to understand how mysql deals with formulas, if at all, when data is exported from excel to mysql does the formula in a cell disappear and only the value in the cell is exported?
I appreciate that there might be a better solution, any help would be appreciated I have been working on the spreadsheets for many years and choosing the right way forward is a big concern.
